Concrete removal is heavier work than it looks. A four-inch residential driveway runs well over a ton per hundred square feet, and reinforced or thicker slabs run considerably more.

Reinforcement changes everything
Plain concrete breaks and loads quickly. Concrete with rebar or wire mesh has to be broken, cut and separated, which takes longer and costs more. You often cannot tell from the surface. We assume reinforcement on anything commercial or structural and price accordingly.
Recycling
Clean concrete is recyclable and disposal is generally cheaper than landfill for mixed debris. Keeping it clean — free of dirt, wood and trash — is worth real money on a large slab.
What is under it
Utilities frequently run beneath and beside old driveways, often undocumented. We locate before we break. On a house that has been added to over decades, assume something is down there.
After it's gone
You are left with a hole and disturbed subgrade. Decide in advance whether you want it backfilled and graded, filled with gravel, or left open for the next trade. It is part of the quote either way.
