Catawba County has a lot of building stock that has outlived its original use — furniture plants, textile buildings, older retail strips along Highway 70 and 321. Commercial demolition here is usually about clearing a site for its next life.
What we handle
- Retail and strip commercial
- Warehouse and light industrial
- Office buildings
- Older mill and plant structures
- Partial and selective demolition on buildings staying in service
The paperwork is the project
Commercial work carries more regulatory weight than residential. Beyond the asbestos inspection, larger jobs may require advance written notification to the state before work begins, and that notification carries a waiting period. Building that into the schedule from day one is the difference between an orderly job and a stopped one.
We will tell you what your specific structure triggers before you commit to a date.
Salvage and recycling
Structural steel, copper, aluminium and sometimes heart pine or brick have real value. On older mill buildings that can offset a meaningful share of the demolition cost. Worth discussing before the machine starts rather than after everything is in a pile.
Documentation you should expect
Asbestos inspection report, abatement records where applicable, utility disconnect confirmations, permit, and disposal tickets. Keep all of it — a future buyer's environmental review will ask.
